SEED TREATMENTS
Seed treatments are a great way to protect and nourish the crop in its early vulnerable stages from biotic and abiotic stresses. The seeds' surface today are packed with crop protection, nutritional and biological actives. In addition to the limited "real estate" on the seeds' surface to retain these actives without dusting-off or flaking off, the seed treatment formulations must ensure that seeds do not bridge in the hoppers or clog the planters on a humid day.
We have developed seed treatment formulations with high solids loading, co-formulated actives to lower the total seed treatment slurries volumes and dry seed finishing powders to ensure a smooth operation from treatment to field.
We can develop viable seed treatment formulations with your active(s) and can perform the following tests to ensure both the physiological and engineering aspects of the final formulation are covered.
-
Seed Safety- Germination (paper towel, soil)
-
Cold Stress during germination
-
Seedling drought stress
-
Seed coating abrasion
-
Dust
-
Dry and Wet flow
-
Clumping/bridging performance
FERTILIZER COATINGS
Similar to seed treatments, Fertilizer granules are great carriers for inputting actives or micronutrients in the fields. Like seed treatments, fertilizer coatings formulations must be carefully developed to ensure correct loading rates, prevent clumping in storage and/or negative impact spreading equipment.
We can develop fertilizer coatings with high solids content (low water), encapsulated microbes, micronutrient suspensions among other. Just like with seed treatments, fertilizer coatings have to be tested for coating coverage, dry flow, clumping performance, fast drying, uptake testing to be robust in performance.
